Audition applications for Priscilla Queen of the Desert are now live!
Dates/Times/Location
Auditions will take place, by appointment only on Wednesday October 14th, Saturday October 17th, and Sunday October 18th. Callbacks (if required) will take place on Sunday, October 18th at approximately 5:00pm. All auditions will take place at the Greely Community Centre located at 1448 Meadow Drive in Greely.
Audition Format
Auditions will take approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour and will involve a 10 minute vocal component which will include your song selection and a test of your vocal range.

This will be followed by a 30 minute choreographed dance component. Click here for a video of the dance routine and information.
The director will assess your acting abilities vis-a-vis your ability to emote throughout your audition (vocals/dance/general interactions).
Volunteering
Greely Players is a not-for-profit musical theatre company that relies entirely on our volunteers. It is a requirement for ALL cast members to volunteer throughout the rehearsal process or during show week. This may be either the cast member themselves or a family member.

Q: How long have you been making theatre magic?
A: Since 2010!
Q: What is your favourite part of this show?
A: No matter the show, I am always most excited for the opening number. It sets the stage for the rest of the show and this opening number will not disappoint.
Q: If you stepped onto the stage as a drag superstar, what would our drag name be?
A: "Ms. Bruschetta Bout It" because I'm Italian and sassy. I have zero stage moves left and that's why I produce now and not act

Q: How long have you been making theatre magic?
A: I have been with The Greely Players in some capacity since 2009!
Q: What part of your soul screamed "I need to do Priscilla"?
A: Great question! The GLAM, the positive messaging and the music!
Q: What is one of your favourite past theatre experiences?
A: My favourite production would have to be Anne of Green Gables. My first theatre experience, and I was onstage with my daughter which made the experience that much more magical. The lifelong friends that I have made through The Greely Players have enriched my life immeasurably!

A: This is my 10th Artisitc Director show with The Greely Players and my 64th show as Director.

A: The music and the spectacle!

Q: How long have you been making theatre magic?
A: This is my 7th production in Ottawa. I've been in musicals (onstage and offstage) for 23 years in Toronto, Hamilton, Ajax, Aurora, and Vaughan!

A: Jasmine Tea - spill it gurl, she's piping hot! (it's also my name hidden in plain sight!)
Q: What is the best part about community theatre?
A: Knowing your cast has got your back and you've got theirs, doing this crazy thing we love called musical theatre!
